At the beginning of 2020, there was a scheduled time to be followed before the casting of the first-floor slab. The corona pandemic delayed the process due to lockdown, which in turn delayed material supply. On-site, the number of workers had to be reduced as well as Covid protocols had to be followed. Despite the delay and reduction of workers, the cast for the first-floor slab was done and waited for 21 days for the concrete to dry. In the middle of the year, the division of the rooms began as well as plumbing installations and electrical piping was laid and demarcated.
Fast-forward to 2021, there was an inspection conducted by the city building authorities, the architect as well as the water and soil commission. Note that this is a routine thing done especially before the commencement of any school building. All documentation had to be provided before continuing to make sure all was up to date. Weeks after, the fire department also came to make sure the necessary provisions were in place for emergencies and fire escapes. On a happy note that was done, and the inspector was happy about it.
In March and April 2021, the doors and window frames installation began which is all locally sourced wood and custom-made. At the beginning of May, the plastering or smoothing of the walls began and is still ongoing. There were also some extra windows that had to be created, and extra wood was bought and customized to fit all the windows.
