Crown Jan Foundation operates as a non-governmental, non-profit organization to encourage, promote and achieve sustainable change in the lives of deprived children to meet their basic needs of education and equal right with a life-cycle approach to development.
Our Story
The foundation was created to honour the memory of Jan Martin van Rienen who died in 2014 February at the age of 26. It was his wish to build a good and functional school to educate the less privileged children. In order for his dream to become a reality, his parents took up this task in order to bring it to life.
He always saw that with proper education one can succeed in anything one sets his or her mind on. He always went by the saying “Knowledge is Power”.
Ghana was chosen because that was where he met his wife and had the opportunity to meet some children who were smart and intelligent but did not have the means to access quality education.
Vision: To give every child access to quality education and potential in order to live a fulfilled life.
Mission: To achieve sustainable change in the lives of deprived children to meet their basic needs of education and equal right with a life-cycle approach of development
